That men would praise the Lord for his goodnefs; and declare the wonders that he doeth for the children of men!

That they would offer unto him the facrifice of thankfgiving; and tell out his works with gladness!

They that go down to the fea in fhips; and occupy their business in great waters;

These men see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

For at his word, the ftormy wind arifeth; which lifteth up the waves thereof.

They are carried up to the heaven, and down again to the deep; their foul melteth away because of the trouble.

They reel to and fro, and ftagger like a drunken man; and are at their wits end.

ous Lord God, who art of infinite goodness and mercy; we, thy poor creatures, whom thou haft made and preferved, holding our fouls in life, and now refcuing us out of the jaws of death, humbly present ourselves again before thy Divine Majesty, to offer a facrifice of praife and thankfgiving, for that thou heardeft us when we called in our trouble, and didst not caft out our prayer, which we made before thee in our great diftrefs; even when we gave all for loft, our Ship, our Goods, our Lives, then didst thou mercifully look upon Then are they glad, be- us, and wonderfully comcause they are at reft; and fo mand a deliverance; for he bringeth them unto the which we now, being in haven where they would be. fafety, do give all praise and O that men would therefore glory to thy holy Name, praise the Lord for his good- through Jefus Christ our nefs; and declare the wonders Lord. Great is the Lord, and

The Lord is gracious, and full of compaffion; flow to anger, and of great mercy.

He hath not dealt with us according to our fins; neither rewarded us according to our iniquities.

Moft mighty and gracious good God, thy mercy is over all thy works, but in fpecial manner hath been extended towards us, whom thou haft fo powerfully and wonderfully defended. greatly to be praifed: let Thou haft showed us terrible the redeemed of the Lord fay things, and wonders in the fo, whom he hath delivered deep, that we might fee how from the merciless rage of powerful and gracious a God the fea. thou art; how able and ready to help them that truft in thee. They had swallowed us up quick, when they were fo wrathfully displeased at us.
