Moft glorious Lord God, and
merciful Father in Chrift Jefus,
who haft prepared for them
that love thee fuch good Things

as pafs Man's Understanding, and haft
promised to give eternal Life to them
who, by patien: Continuance in Well-
doing, feek for Glory and Honour and Im-
mortality Give me, I moft humbly be.
feech thee, a firm and unfhaken Faith in all
thy Promises; that, being fully persuaded
of those important Truths which thou haft
revealed to us in the Gofpel, I may make
it the principal Care and Concern of my
whole Life to please and obey thee in all
Things. And, that I may obtain thofe

to love that which thou doft command; and grant that, by the Affiftance of thy Holy Spirit, I may be enabled to perfevere in the practice of a holy Life, even to the last Moment of my Days.

Let the Hopes and Expectations of that unf eakable Happiness, which thou haft prepared for us hereafter, enable me to pafs through this Vale of Tears and Mifery with Chearfulness and Submiffion to thy bleffed Will, and to bear with Patience whatever Troubles thou, in thy great Wif dom, fhalt fee fit to lay upon me.

O Lord! give me a Heart raifed above the Vanities and Enticements of this World, and free. from all the Pollutions and Defilements of it. Fix my Thoughts, my Hopes, and my Defires, upon Heaven and heavenly Things; that, having always in View that Crown of Glory which thou haft laid up for us hereafter, I may prefs towards the Mark for the Prize of the high Calling of God in Chrift Jefus: and, being ftrengthened by thy Grace, and fupported by thy Holy Spirit, I may run with Patience the Race which thou haft fet before us; that, when the great Day of Retribution fhall, come,

come, I may look up to my moft merciful Judge with Joy and Comfort, and may hear thofe ravishing Words pronounced unto. me, Well done, thou good and faithful Servant, enter thou into the foy of thy Lord. Grant this O merciful Father, through the alone Merits, and for the Sake, of my eternal Advocate and Mediator Jefus Chrift, Amen.

ourfelves before the Throne of thy Majefty and Glory, acknowledging that we are thy dependent Creatures, and that from thy bountiful Hand we have received and exceeding great Bleffings.

By Thee, we were wonderfully made; by thy Power we have ever since been preferved; and it is owing to thy great Mercy and Goodness that we have not been cut off in the midst of our Sins, but that Thou haft been patient and longfuffering towards us, and haft given us this Opportunity of coming into thy Prefence to renew our Praifes and Acknowledgments to thy Divine Majefty. O Lord, thy Compaffion fails not. By Thee we have been preferved the Night paft; and

to thy Goodness we afcribe it, that we are brought in Health and Safety to the Beginning of this Day.

Accept, we humbly pray thee, of our unfeigned Thanks for all the Mercies and Bleffings which thou hast been pleased to bestow upon us; and pardon, we beseech Thee, for the Sake of thy Son Chrift Jefus, our great Unworthiness of what Thou hast done for us. Give us fuch a Senfe of thy infinite Love and Kindness, as may engage us more and more to love and obey Thee, and make us afraid of every Thing that may be difpleafing in thy Sight.

O Lord! vouchfafe us fuch a Measure of thy Grace and Holy Spirit, as may defend us against the Snares and Temptations of this wicked World, and enable us to overcome all our corrupt and finful Defires. Give us a true Senfe of the inef timable Value of our Souls, that we may make it the chief Care and Concern of our Lives to work out our Salvation with the greatest Care and Diligence, and to fecure an Intereft in thy Favour, which is better than Life itself.
