Come, ye children, hearken | unto me;
I will teach you the fear of the | Lord.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth |
many days,

That he may see | good!

Keep thy tongue from evil,

And thy lips from | speaking | guile.

Depart from evil | ando | god;

Seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the Lord are up | on the | righteous,
And his ears are | open un | to their cry.

The face of the Lord is against | them that do | evil, To cut off the remembrance | of them from the earth.

The righteous cry, and the | Lord | heareth,

And delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken { heart,

And saveth such as | be of a | contrite | spirit.

Many are the afflictions | cf the | righteous;

But the Lord delivereth him out of them | all." He keepeth all his | bones,

Not one of them is broken.

Evil shall slay the

wicked,

And they that hate the righteous shall be | desolate.

The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants,
And none of them that trust in him | shall be |

des late.

PSALM XXXIV. ·

13.

FRET not thyself because of | evil | doers,

Neither be thou envious against the workers | of iniquity.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the | green | herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good:

So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also | in the | Lord ;

And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way un to the | Lord;

Trust also in him; and he shall | bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,

And thy judgment as the noon | day.

Rest in the Lord,

And wait patiently for him;

Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth | in his way.

Because of him who bringeth | wicked devices to

pass.

Cease from anger, and for | sake | wrath:
Fret not thyself in any wise to do | evil.
For evil doers shall be cut off;

But those that wait upon the Lord, they shall in herit the earth.

For yet a little while, and the wicked | shall not | be: Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it | shall not be.

But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance

of peace.

The Lord knoweth the days of the upright:
And their inheritance shall be for ever.

They shall not be ashamed in the evil | time: And in the days of famine, they shall be satisfied. 1

That I may know how | frail I am.

Behold thou hast made my days as a handbreadth ; and mine age is as nothing before thee: Verily every man at his best state is altogether | vanity.

Surely every man walketh in a | vain | show:
Surely they are dis quiet | ed in vain.
He heapeth up | riches,

Surely every man is vanity.

Hear my prayer, O | Lord,

efore I go hence, and be no more.

PSALM XXXIX. 4-13,

15.

As the hart panteth after | streams of water,
So panteth my soul | after | thee, O | God.
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:
When shall I come and appear before | God.

My tears have been my meat, | day and | night, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul | in me:

For I had gone with the

I went with them

All thy waves and thy | billows | are gone over me. Yet the Lord will command his loving kindness | in the day time;

And in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the | God | of my life.

I will say unto God, my rock, Why hast thou for gotten me?

Why go I mourning because of the oppression | of the enemy?
