For I am poor and necdy,

Yet the Lord thinketh_up | on me,

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and | he shall sus tain thee;

He shall never suffer the righteous | to be | moved.
For the needy shall not always | be for | gotten;
The expectations of the poor shall not | perish

The humble shall see this,
And their heart shall | live

and be | glad,
that seek | God.

For he will abundantly | bless their pro | visions :

Feed them also,

Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

HEAR my prayer, O Lord:
| ¦
Give ear to my supplications.

SELECTED:

In thy faithfulness | answer me,
And in thy righteousness.

Set a watch, O Lord, be | fore my | mouth;
Keep the door of my lips.

Consider and hear me, O Lord my | God :
Lighten my eyes, lest I | sleep the sleep of death.

Lord, be merciful unto me; | heal my | soul;
For I have sinned against thee.

Quicken thou me, O Lord, for thy mercy's sake; For thy righteousness sake, bring my soul cut of trouble.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: commune with my own heart: my spirit | maketh | diligent search.

Will the Lord cast off for ever?

And will he be | favoura⚫ ble no | more

Is his kindness with | drawn for ever?
Will his promise fail for all generations?
Hath God forgotten to be gracious?

Hath he in anger cut off his tender | mercies?

Then I said, This is my grief,

The change of the right hand of the most high. Let me remember the deeds of Je | hovah,

Yea, let me remember his former | wonders.

Blessed is the man whom thou | chastenest, O | Lord,
And teachest him out of thy law.

For the Lord will not cast | off his people,
Neither will he for | sake | his inheritance.

But judgment shall return unto | righteousness,
And all the upright in heart shall follow it:

From this time forth, and for ever | more.
Whatsoever the Lord pleased, | that | did he

He causeth the vapours | to ascend
From the ends of the earth.

He maketh lightnings for the rain:

He bringeth the wind | out of his treasury.

The clouds poured out | water:

The skies sent | forth a sound.

Thine arrows also | went a | broad:

The voice of thy | thunder was | in the | heaven :
The lightnings enlightened the | world:

The earth shook and | trembled.

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path | in the great |

And thy footsteps are not known.
The Lord is high above all | nations;

BY the rivers of Babylon, there we sat ;
We wept when we remembered Zion.
Upon the willows in the midst of it
We hanged our harps.

For there they who had carried us away captives required of us a song;

And they who had brought us a way required | joy.

"Sing us one of the songs of | Zion."

"How can we sing a song of Jehovah in the | land of a stranger?

When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like them that dream.

Then was our mouth | filled with | laughter,

And our tongue with singing.

SELECTIONS FROM THE PSALMS

Then said they among the heathen,

"Jehovah hath done | great

things | for them."

Yea, Jehovah hath done great things for us,

Where of we are glad.

Glorious is it to speak of | thee,

O city of our | God.

Happy that people in such a | state,

Yea, happy that people whose | God | is Je | hovah !

HOW am I glad when they say un | to me "I will go up to the house of Je | hovah." My foot hath stood already

In thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, thou | beautifully | built:
Chief city, where | all unite together!-
There are the thrones of judgmeut,
The thrones of the house of David,

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem ;
May they prosper that love thee!
Peace be with in thy walls,

Prosperity in thy | palaces!

For my brethren and companions' | sake

I wish thee peace!

For the sake of the temple of our God

I bless thee with | good,
