The measure thereof is longer than the earth, He doeth great things past | finding | out, Lo, he goeth before me, and I see him not; Behold, I go forward, but he | is not there; He hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot See him. But he knoweth the way that I | take: I shall come forth as | gold. There is a path which | no fowl | knoweth, And which the vulture's eye hath not seen! And where is the place of understanding: Man knoweth not the price there cf; And the sea saith, | It is not in | me. It cannot be gotten for | gold; Neither shall silver be weighed for the price there cf. No mention shall be made of coral | or of pearls; For the price of wisdom | is above | rubies. Whence then cometh wisdom, And where is the place of understanding? Destruction and | death | shy, 'We have heard the fame thereof | with our ears.' God understandeth the way there | of, And he knoweth the place there | of. And unto man he saith, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding. 66. MY son, for get not my law; But let thy heart keep my precepts: Let not mercy and truth for sake thee; Then shalt thou find favour and good esteem, Trust in the Lord with all thy | heart; And he will direct thy paths. 1 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord For whom the Lord loveth, he cor | rectéth : whom he de | lighteth: The path of the righteous is as the dawning | light, That shineth more and more until the perfect | day.
