The design of these Lectures is to treat of an important branch of the Evidence of Prophecy; that which proves our Lord to be the true Messiah, of whom Moses in the Law, and the Prophets, did write. The same argument affords a very con vincing proof of the divine authority of the Holy Scriptures, inasmuch as it brings into View such an extraordinary connection, and coherence of parts, between the Old Testa ment and the New, as, considering the circumstances under which those writings were produced, can be accounted for no otherwise, than by supposing the same divine Spirit to be the Author of the whole.
