III. The bodies of the unjuft fhall, by thepower of Chrift, be raised to difhonour; the bodies of the juft, by his Spirit, unto honour, and be made conformable to his own glorious body.

It is fown in corruption, it is raifed in incorruption: It is fown in difho nour, it is raifed in glory: It is fown in weaknefs, it is raised in power: It is fown a natural body, it is raised a fpiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a fpiritual body.

CHAP. XXXIII.

Of the last Judgment.

OD hath appointed a day, wherein he will judge the world in righteousness by Jefus Chrift, to whom all power and judgment is given of the Father". In which day, not only the apoftate angels fhall be judged; but likewife all perfons, that have lived upon earth, fhall appear before the tribunal of Christ, to give an account of their thoughts, words and deeds; and to receive according to what they have done in the body, whether good or evil".

The end of God's appointing this day is for the manifestation of the glory of his mercy, in the eternal falvation of the elect; and of his juftice, in the damnation of the reprobate, who are wicked and disobedient. For then shall the righteous go into everlasting life, and receive that fulness of joy and refreshing which fhall come from the prefence of the Lord: But the

For by thy words thou shalt be juftified, and by thy words thou fhalt be condemned.

His Lord faid unto 25. 21. him, Well done thou good and faithful fervant; thou haft been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart, treafureft up unto thyfelf wrath against the day of wrach, and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; who will render to every man according to his deeds. 2 Theff. 1. 7. 8. The Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jefus Chrift. Rom. 9. 22.

g Mat. 25. 31, 32, 33. 34. When the Son of man fhall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then fhall he fit upon the throne of his glory. And before him fhall be gathered all nations; and he fhall feparate them one from the other, as a fhepherd divideth bis fheep from the goats: And he fha fet the fheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then fhall the King fay unto them on his right hand. Come ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Acts 3. 19. Times of

III. As Chrift would have us to be certainly perfuaded that there shall be a day of judgment, both to deter all men from fin, and for the greater confolation of the godly in their adversity':

refreshing fhall come from the prefence of the Lord. 2 Theff. 1. 7. And to you who are troubled, reft with us, when the Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from heaven, with his mighty angels.

h Mat. 25. 41, 46. Then fhall he fay alfo unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlafting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. And thefe fhall go away into everlafting punishment. 2 Theff. 1. 9. Who fhall be punished with everlafting deftruction from the prefence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. Ifa. 66. 24. For their worm fhall not die, neither fhall their fire be quenched.

III. i 2 Pet. 3. 11, 14. See ing then that all thefe things fhall be diffolved, what manner of perfons ought ye to be in all holy converfation and godlinefs? Wherefore, belov. ed, feeing that ye look for fuch things, be diligent that ye may

be found of him in peace, without, spot and blamefefs. 2 Cor. 5. 11. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we perfuade men; but we are made manifeft unto God, and I trust also, are made manifeft in your confciences. 1. 5, 6, 7. Which is a manifeft token of the righteous judgment of God; that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye alfo fuffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompenfe tribulation to them that trouble you ;-And to you who are troubled, reft with us, when the Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels. Luke 21. 27. 28. And then fhall they fee the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to país, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

So will he have that day unknown to men, that they may fhake off all carnal fecurity, and be always watchful, becaufe they know not at what hour the Lord will come; and may be ever prepared to fay, Come, Lord Jefus, come quicklyk. Amen.
