A general Thanksgiving.

ALMIGHTY God, Father of all mercies, we thine unworthy servants do give thee most humble and hearty thanks, for all thy goodness and lovingkindness to us and to all men (particularly for thy watchful Providence over us during the night past). We bless thee for our Creation, Preservation, and all the Blessings of this Life; but above all, for thine inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, for the means of Grace and for the hope of Glory. And we beseech thee, give us that due sense of all thy mercies, that our hearts may be unfeignedly thankful, and that we may show forth thy praise, not only with our lips but in our lives; by giving up ourselves to thy service, and by walking

before thee in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

A Prayer of St. Chrysostom.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us grace at this time, with one accord, to make our common supplications unto thee; and dost promise, that when two or three are gathered together in thy Name, thou wilt grant their requests: Fulfil now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of thy servants, as may be most expedient for them; granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth, and in the world to come life everlasting. Amen.

2 COR. xiii. 14.

If a Bishop be present, let him be requested to pronounce a blessing upon the family.

The peace of God which passeth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord: and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, be amongst you, and remain with you always. Amen.

servants now going forth to do their duty in that station of life unto which thou hast been pleased to call them. May thy blessing be upon our persons, upon our labours, upon our substance, and upon all that belongs to us. Enable us to resist the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil; to follow the motions of thy good Spirit; to be serious and holy in our lives, true and just

in our dealings; watchful over our thoughts, words, and actions; diligent in our business, and temperate in all things. Give us grace, that we may honestly improve all the talents thou hast committed to our trust; and that no worldly business, no worldly pleasures, may ever divert us from the thoughts of the life to come: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Tuesday.

O HEAVENLY Father we pray thee to look graciously upon this thy family and every member of the same: bless us in our bodies and bless us in our souls; bless us in the basket and in the store, in our going out and our coming in, and all that we put our hands unto. But, above all, bless us with the choicest spiritual blessings, with a pure heart and a sound mind; with a contempt of the
