Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way, thy son liveth. The man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. And, as he was going down, the servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend: and they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that it was the same hour in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth; and he believed, and all his household. So when his fellows saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that had happened. Then his lord called him, and said unto him, O thou ungracious servant, I forgave thee all that debt, when thou desiredst me: shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the jailors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. For many walk, (of whom I have told you often, and now tell you weeping,) that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ; whose end is damnation, whose belly is their god, and glory to their shame, which are worldly minded.
