AREAS IN SCOTLAND

Provision is made in this Vote for a Grant in Aid of relief in distressed mining areas in Scotland equal to eleven eightieths of the grant to be made from the Exchequer to the Lord Mayor's Fund on the basis of £1 grant for every £1 of voluntary subscriptions to that Fund. The provision in the present Estimate is based on the initial contribution of £150,000 to be made to the Lord Mayor's Fund and a Supplementary Estimate will be presented later to meet further sums required in respect of additional contributions to the Fund.

This grant will be administered by the Secretary of State for Scotland.
