I.-SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATE of the Amount required in the Year ending 31 March 1929 for sundry DOMINION SERVICES including a Grant in Aid, for advances in certain cases on account of liabilities assumed by the Government of the Irish Free State in connection with COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY or with LAND PURCHASE, for certain ex gratia Grants, for expenditure in connection with Ex-Service Men in the Irish Free State, and for a Grant in Aid to the Irish Free State in respect of CoмPENSATION TO TRANSFERRED OFFICERS.

G. 5.-GRANT IN AID TO THE IRISH FREE STATE IN
RESPECT OF COMPENSATION ΤΟ TRANS-
FERRED OFFICERS.

This Grant in Aid is to enable additional compensation
to be paid to certain officers transferred to the service
of the Irish Free State who have been discharged or
who have retired in consequence of the change of
Government, equal to the further compensation which
is payable under Article X of the Articles of Agree-
ment, as interpreted by the Judicial Committee of the
Privy Council in the case of Wigg and Cochrane.
Payments will be made by the Government of the Irish
Free State, and issues out of the Grant in Aid
will be made as required for payments made and
expenses incurred by that Government. The issues
will not be accounted for in detail to the Comptroller
and Auditor General, but he will be furnished with
the certificate of the Comptroller and Auditor-
General of the Irish Free State as to payments
finally made any balance of the sums issued from
the Grant in Aid unexpended at the close of the
financial year will not be liable to surrender...
