To all Pastors or Curates in the Lord's inheritance, the Church, whether visible or invisible, attached to congregations, or unattached and supernumerary,— HEALTH and UTILITY! IT is not often that so small a work apparently as this which here claims your regard and acceptance, brethren, has the fortune to be graced with a Preface; but literary works are not always so small as they appear to be; neither are they always so great indeed as they would appear. And beside that, I have a few words to address to both sorts of you, that is, both to the "visible and invisible" at once; considering both as my particular relatives in Christ so far as we are equally related to him by "the obedience of faith," the part in which he owns us his relations.
