Etant la CINQUIEME Session du Conseil Spécial, Commencée et tenue en la Cité de Montréal, dans la dite Province du Bas-Canada, le Onzième jour de Novembre, Anno Domini 1839, dans la troisième année du règne de Notre Souveraine Dame Victoria, par la grâce de Dieu, Reine du RoyaumeUni de la Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande, Protectrice de la Foi, &c., et ajournée le Quatorzième jour du même mois, de la même année. CAP. I. Preamble. An Ordinance to continue, for a limited time, a certain Ordinance, relative to the seizing and detaining for a limited time of Gunpowder, Arms, Weapons, Lead and Munitions of War. W HEREAS it is expedient to continue, for a limited time, the Ordinance hereinafter mentioned :-Be it therefore Ordained and Enacted by His Excellency the Governor of the Province of Lower Canada, by and with the advice and consent of the Special Council for the affairs of the said Province, constituted and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, passed in the first year of the Reign of Her present Majesty, intituled, "An Act to make temporary provision for the Government of Lower Canada;" And it is hereby Ordained and Enacted by the authority of the same, that the Ordinance made and passed in the second year of Her Majesty's Reign, chapter two, intituled, "An Ordinance to "authorize the seizing and detaining, for a limited time, of Gunpowder, Arms, "Weapons, Lead and Munitions of War," and all and every the matters and things therein mentioned and contained, shall further continue to be and remain in force until the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and forty, and no longer. Ordained and Enacted by the authority aforesaid, and passed in Special Council, under the Great Seal of the Province, at the Government House, in the City of Montreal, the Fourteenth day of November, in the third year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, and in the year of Our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine. A Son TTENDU qu'il est nécessaire de continuer pendant un tems limité, l'Ordon- Préambule. nance ci-après mentionnée:-Qu'il soit en conséquence Ordonné et Statué par Excellence le Gouverneur de la Province du Bas-Canada, par et de l'avis et consentement du Conseil Spécial pour les affaires de la dite Province, constitué et assemblé en vertu et sous l'autorité d'un Acte du Parlement du Royaume-Uni de la Grande Bretagne et d'Irlande, passé dans la première année du règne de Sa présente Majesté, intitulé, "Acte pour établir des dispositions temporaires pour le Gouvernement du Bas-Canada;" et il est par les présentes Ordonné et Statué par l'autorité susdite, que l'Ordonnance faite et passée dans la deuxième année du règne de Sa Majesté, chapitre deux, intitulé, "Ordonnance autorisant la saisie et la détention, pendant un tems limité, de la Poudre, du Plomb, des Armes et autres Munitions de Guerre," et toutes et chacunes les matières et choses y contenues et qui y sont mentionnées, continueront et demeureront en vigueur jusqu'au premier jour de Juin, mil huit cent quarante, et pas plus longtems.
