MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN, W [Assented to 21st May, 1897.] HEREAS it appears by a Message from His Excellency Preamble. the Right Honourable Sir John Campbell HamiltonGordon, Earl of Aberdeen, Governor General of Canada, that the sum of twenty-six thousand dollars is required to defray certain expenses in connection with the Militia Contingent to be sent to England for the Jubilee of Her Majesty in June, 1897; May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, that: 1. This Act may be cited as The Appropriation Act (No. 1), Short title. 1897. ed for Jubilee Militia 2. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of $26,000 grantCanada there shall and may be paid and applied a sum not exceeding in the whole twenty-six thousand dollars to provide Contingent. for the pay and allowances, transport and general expenses of the Militia Contingent to be sent to England to represent Canada on the occasion of the Jubilee of Her Majesty in June, 1897.
