The Mission Fund consequently now £686, 8s. rod.-nearly £150 less than it was three years ago.

Since the beginning of my Episcopate I have also expended in the Diocese on churches, schools, endowments, &c., over £4500 from a private fund. This, I regret to say, must of necessity soon be exhausted.

I am therefore compelled to appeal to my friends for a renewed effort on behalf of the West Highland Mission Fund, upon which in the future I must to a great extent depend for supplying the very exceptional needs of the Church in the Diocese.

I shall be thankful to receive any sums large or small. All such contributions may be sent to me at Ballachulish, N.B., and will be acknowledged, and afterwards accounted for in my next Report.

ALEXANDER, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles.
