Some eafy Leffons on the foregoing Tables, confifting of Words not exceeding Three Syllables. LESSON I.

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye Righteous: For

it doth become well the Juft to be thankful. Praise the Lord with Harp: Sing Praifes unto him with the Lute, and Inftruments of ten Strings. Sing unto the Lord a new Song: Sing Praises luftily unto him with a good Courage.

For the Word of the Lord is true; and all his Works are faithful.

LESSON II.

A virtuous Woman is a Crown to her Hufband: But fhe that hath no Shame is as rottennefs in his Bones.

The Hand of the Diligent fhall bear Rule: But the Slothful fhall be under Tribute.

The Righteous is more excellent than his Neighbour: But the Way of the Wicked doth reduce them.

LESSON III.

I will magnify thee, O God, my King: And I will praife thy Name for ever and ever. Every Day will I give Thanks unto thee: And praife thy Name for ever and ever.

Great is the Lord, and marvellous; worthy to be praifed: There is no End of his Greatnefs. The Lord is loving unto every Man: And his Mercy is over all his Works.

LESSON IV.

A King that fitteth in the Throne of Judgment, fcattereth away all Evil with his Eyes. More is Gold, and a Multitude of Rubies: ips of Knowledge are a precious Jewel.

Bread of Deceit is fweet to a Man; but afterwards his Mouth fhall be filled with Gravel.

Say not thou, I will recompenfe Evil; but wait on the Lord, and he fhall fave thee.

LESSON V.

The Lord is righteous in all his Ways, and holy in all his Works.

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him: Yea, all fuch as call upon him faithfully.

He will fulfil the Defire of them that fear him: He also will hear their Cry, and will help them. The Lord doth preferve all them that love him: But fcattereth abroad all the wicked Men.

LESSON VI.

The Robbery of the Wicked fhall destroy them; because they hate Judgment.

The Wicked shall be a Random for the Righte

ous;

and he that doth tranfgrefs, for the Upright. A wife Man scaleth the City of the Mighty, and cafteth down the Strength and Confidence thereof.

The Slothful coveteth, greedily all the Day long: But the Righteous giveth, and fpareth not.

HOU, O Lord, haft maintained my Right and my Caufe: Thou art fet in the Throne that judgeft Right.

Thou haft rebuked the Heathen; and destroyed the Ungodly: Thou haft put out their Name for ever and ever.

The Lord alfo will be a Defenfe for the Oppreffed: Even a Refuge in due time of Trouble.
