the dead judged accordingly to what they shall have done in this world, whether it be good or evil. Nay men hall give an account of every idle word they have spoken, which the world only counts amusement and jeft: And then the fecrets and hypocrify of men fhall be "disclosed and laid open before all. And therefore the confideration of this judg inent is justly terrible and dreadful to the wicked and ungodly, but moft defirable and comfortable to the righteous and elect; becaufe then their full deliverance fhall be perfected, and there they shall receive the fruits of their labour and trouble which they have borne. Their innocence hall be known 10 all, and they fhall fee the terrible vengeance which God shall execute on the wicked, who moft cruelly perfecuted, oppreffed and tormented them in this world; and who fhall be convicted by the teftimony of their own confciences, and become immorral, but for this purpofe to be tormented in that everlafting fire, which is prepared for the devil and his angels. But on the contrary the faithful and elect shall be crowned with glory and honor; and the Son of God will confefs their r names before God his Father, and his elect angels; all tears fhall be wiped from their eyes, and their caufe which is now condemned by many judges and magiftrates, as heretical and impious, will then be known to be the caufe of the Son of God. 1. LORD'S DAY.

21. WHAT is thy only comfort in live and

death?

A. That I with (a) body and foul, both in life and death (6) am not my own, but belong (c) unto my faithful Saviour Jefus Chrift, who with his precious (d) blood hath fully (e) fatisfied for all my fins, and delivered (f) me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me, (g) that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair (h) can fall from my head; yea that all things must be (i) subservient to my falvation, and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he alfo affures me (k) of eternal life, and makes (1) me Lincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him.

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God' with all "thy heart, with all thy foul, with all thy mind, and "with all thy strength.
