Prov. xiii. 18. Poverty and fhame fhall be to him that refufeth inftruction; but he that regardeth reproof, fhall be honoured.

Ver. 32. He that refuseth inftruction, despiseth his own foul; but he that heareth reproof, getteth un-derstanding.

Prov. xxv. 12. As an ear-ring of gold, and an or-nament of fine gold, fo is a wife reprover upon an obedient ear.

XII. To FORGIVING INJURIES.

Prov. xx. 22. Say not thou, I will recompenfe evil: but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee. Prov. xxv. 21. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him

water to drink.

Ver. 22. For thou fhalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD fhall reward thee, Rom. xii.

Matt. v. 44. Love your enemies; bless them that curfe you; do good to them that hate you; and pray for them which despitefully use you, and perfecute

Ver. 11. He that tilleth his land fhall be fatisfied with bread.

Prov. xiii. 4. The foul of the fluggard defireth, and hath nothing; but the foul of the diligent fhall be made fat.

Ver. 11. Wealth gotten by vanity fhall be diminished; but he that gathereth by labour fhall increase. Prov. xiv. 23. In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

Prov. xxi. 5. The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteoufnefs; but of every one that is hafty, only to want.

Prov. xxit. 29. Seeft thou a man diligent in his bufinefs ; he shall stand before kings, he shall not ftand before mean men.
