A few manufactures of goat hair are exported to the United States each year, and similar returns are occasionally met in the commercial reports of other countries. There is a woolen industry, but it is fed by imports of wools, and the products are chiefly for home consumption. The number of animals at different periods was: In 1890, Norway imported 1,144,000 kilograms of wool, valued at 2,861,000 kroner; and Sweden imported 2,375,131 kilograms, valued at 7,492,000 kroner.
