Prayer changes lives. It profoundly shapes us and our surroundings. Drawing on the rich tradition of Christian prayer, and on her experience as a workshop leader offering spiritual guidance, Anne Tanner suggests practical ways of making space for God in our lives, and of remaking our lives in the process.

The book gives clear instruction on various forms of meditation, with gradual steps for beginners and fresh insights for the experienced. These gentle disciplines of prayer can bring us to a still centre where the strands of our fragmented and busy lives are drawn together, and our awareness of God's presence is deepened.

Here is a richly textured presentation of the history, practices, and implications of Christian prayer to help us live a rewarding life in a stressful world.
