"Scott's Code." Price 17s. 6d.

THE SHIPOWNERS' TELEGRAPHIC CODE.

Sixth Edition, 1885. Reprint, 1888.

The continued demand for the Code has rendered a reprint necessary. Holders of the original 1885 Edition will please note that the New Issue is strictly a reprint of that Edition; the only additions being Proprietary Phrases, such as have hitherto appeared in the Lists of Holders.

The reprint provides for the economical communication of about 15,000 Phrases, and a copious Index materially assists in the framing of Messages. Ordinary sentences and additions from other Codes can be freely introduced when necessary. The Code Words are plain dictionary words, as recommended by the St. Petersburg Conference; and complaints of error in transmission have been singularly few. THE PRACTICE OF PLACING A COPY OF THE CODE

ON BOARD EACH SHIP IS RAPIDLY EXTENDING.

*

"SCOTT'S CODE " has been supplied to more than 3,600 Houses in various parts of the world. The List of Holders can be had, gratis, on application; or a copy of each issue will be sent regularly, postage paid, on payment in advance of 5s. per annum. The names and Telegraphic Addresses of Holders are entered gratuitously in this List.

THE LISTS OF HOLDERS ARE OPEN FOR ADVERTISEMENTS.
The Terms for insertion in 2,000 Copies are:-

One Page 42s. Half Page 27s. 6d. Quarter Page 16s.
One-eighth Page 10s. 6d.

One-sixteenth Page 78. 6d.

Code Words can also be assigned to Phrases relating to Coaling, Ship's business and other specialities at 10s. for one line (155. two lines); the same appearing in the Lists of Holders until transferred (free of charge) to the next edition of the Code when published.

* ALL ORDERS SHOULD BE ACCOMPANIED BY REMITTANCE. ☀ Orders from abroad cannot be executed unless so accompanied.
