But when he heard it, he said, 12 They that are 8 whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and 13 learn what this meaneth, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice: for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. Then come to him the dis- 14 ciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast 9oft, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto 15 them, Can the sons of the bride-chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and new wine into old 1 wine-skins: else the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins perish: but they put new wine 2 Gr. one into fresh wine-skins, and both are preserved. While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came 2 a ruler, and worshipped him, ruler. Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. And he called unto 10 him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness. Now the names of the twelve 2 apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Barthe lomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphæus, and Thaddeus; 4 Simon the 1 Cananæan, and Judas Iscariot, who also 2 be5 trayed him. A disciple is not above his 24 7 master, nor a 8 servant above his lord. It is enough for the 25 disciple that he be as his 7master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house 9 Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household! Fear 26 them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I 27 as ye enter into the house, 13 salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return 14 to you.
