Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth 18 forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree, that bringeth

not forth good fruit, is hewn down and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye 21 shall know them. Not ev

the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil; for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. And why call ye me Lord, Lord; and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like. He is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock; and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it; for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently; and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.

And then will I profess unto them; I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock; 25 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a 26 rock. And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold, a man full of leprosy; who, seeing Jesus, fell on his face, and besought him, saying; Lord, if thou wilt, thou 13 canst make me clean. And he put forth his hand and touched him, saying; I will, be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed 14 from him. And he charg

And

And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, be6 seeching him, and saying; Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, 7 grievously tormented. Jesus saith unto him; I will 8 come and heal him. The centurion answered and said; Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; but speak in a word only, and my servant shall 9 be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this man; Go, and he goeth; and to another; Come, and he cometh; and to my servant; Do this, and he do10 eth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed; Verily

Now, when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he enter2 ed into Capernaum. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying; He is worthy for whom thou shalt do this; for he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him; Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and 12 much people. Now, when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and much people

say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not 11 in Israel. And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the 12 kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of 13 teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion; Go thy way, and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour.

that thou shouldest enter un7 der my roof; wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee; but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers; and I say unto one; Go, and he goeth; and to another; Come, and he cometh; and to my servant; Do this, and 9 he doeth it. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him; and turned him about and said unto the people that followed him; I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not 10 in Israel. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
