LUKE VI. What is lawful on the sabbath-days? to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or 10 to kill? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto him; Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so; and his hand was restored as the 11 other. And they were filled with madness, and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus. He that is not with me, is against me; and he that gathereth not with me, 31 scattereth abroad. Where fore I say unto you; All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto 32 men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven. him; but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. if a house be divided against itself, that house. cannot stand; and if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. Verily I say unto you, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and the blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme; but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal 30 damnation. And it Either make the tree good, | 24 and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt; for the tree 34 is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good 25 things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth 26 35 speaketh. A good man, out of the good treasure, bringeth forth good things; and an evil man, out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil 36 things. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the 37 day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. 29 it. came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him; Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said; Yea, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say; This is an evil generation; they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas. For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the 30 31 31 MARK III. No man when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it into a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. The light of the body is the eye; therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore, that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light. 36 |
