And Abimelech, and the company that was with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in the fields, and slew them.

2 Sam. ii, 29, 32. And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim. And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre lehem: and Joab and his men of his father, which was in Bethwent all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.

2 Sam. xvii, 22. Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that
