HE Hand-Book to Hampton Court, of which the present Edition is a re-issue, was originally compiled by Sir Henry Cole, in 1841. The plan then adopted has been adhered to. The Notes in the Appendix to the original edition of the Handbook, together with the Abstract of the Parliamentary Survey, which

was first printed in 1841, by Sir Henry Cole, have, however, been omitted in this 6d. edition, as well as the descriptions of those parts of the Palace not open to the Public.

The Guide has been brought into conformity with modern arrangements and discoveries, and has been corrected in many matters of detail, by Mr. Ernest Law, author of "The History of Hampton Court Palace."

The Catalogue of the Pictures has undergone a thorough revision, and historical notes have heen added thereto from Mr. Law's "Historical Catalogue," which notes are for the most part distinguished by being enclosed in brackets.
