[Isaiah ly. 1.]
8. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters,

And he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;
Yea, come, þuy wine, and milk, without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread ?

And your labor for that which satisfieth not?
Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is gond,

And let your soul delight itself in fatnes
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies

of David.
Behold, I have given Him for a witness to the people,
A leader and commander to the people.

Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not,
And nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord

thy God,

And for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. 9. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,

Call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts ;
And let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him ;

And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your

thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth

not thither,
But watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; 7. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth : It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 10.

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace :
The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing,

And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree,
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign, that shall not be cut off.

[John iv. 23.) 14. The woman saith unto Jesus, Sir, 1 perceive thạt inou art'a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain ; and ye say, That in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

[Acts xvii. 24.) 15. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.; and hath made of one blood all nations of men, for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation ; that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said,

“For we are also his offspring."

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.

[Luke xi. 1.) 16. And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, OUR FATHER which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

17. And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him; and he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not! the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet, because of his importunity, he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. 18. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; and

ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for every one that asketh, receiveth ; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone ? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent ? or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? . If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him!

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

[James i. 5.] If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

[James v. 16.] 20. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

[Ephesians vi. 14.] 21. Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace ; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplications for all saints.

[Ephesians v. 19.] 22. Speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[Jude 20.] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

[1 Thessalonians v. 17.] Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

[Matthew xviii. 19.] 23. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

[John xiv. 13.] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name : ask, and ye shall receive, that

your joy may be fuit.

[Isaiah xl. 31.)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings as eagles ;
They shall run, and not be weary;
And they shall walk, and not faint.

(Revelation xxi. 7.] He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

(Genesis ii. 1.] 1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it, because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

[Exodus xx. 8.) Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy: six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God : in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy nean-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day; wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
