The above volume was purchased by the late possessor for 157. 15s. The first book was unknown to Nicolas Antonio. The name of the translator is found in his dedicatory epistle to the great Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordova. The second work is printed in the Gothic type, and adorned with the usual wood-cuts, which are very spirited and brilliant. Such is the rarity of it, that it is not only unknown to Spanish writers, but Nic. Antonio asserts that the above translation, by Ant. de Obregon, first appeared at Salamanca in 1581, nearly fifty years after the publication of the present edition. Nothing but the extraordinary rarity of it could have excused so wide an error.
