"Laurentius Gambara, one of the best poets of the 16th century, was born in 1496. An extraordinary collection of the various poetical pieces by Gambara, the whole of which are the best and most copious editions.

The above copy is perfect in every re spect. "These volumes are among the very rarest of the Aldine publications to be found in a perfect state. It is the first work in which the Aldine anchor was used, and contains the first portion of the New Testament ever printed in any language." Sir Mark Sykes's copy sold for 26l. 15s. 6d.

This very curious volume contains a series of prize poems in praise of Saint Christopher, in the Valencian dialect (a species of Limousin or Provençal) The present copy, which is considered to be UNIQUE, was purchased by the late pu sessor in the White Knights sale for 291. 10s.

All the editions of these poems, printed in Spain, in the early part of the 16th century, are very rare. The above is particularly so, and is stated by Antonio to be the first collected edition. This copy was purchased in Mr. Rich's sale for 8. 12s. 6d.
