5 And the fonnes of Riminon the Beeroahire Rechab and Baanah went, and came-about the heat of the day, to the boule of Khbofherh, who lay on a bed at noone.

6 And they came thither into the midft of the boufe, as though they would have fetched wheat and they finote him under the fift vibbe,and Rechab and Baanah bis brother efcaped.

7 And when they came into the houfe, he Jay on his bed in his bed chamber, and they finore him, and flew him, and beheaded jm.and tooke his head and gate them away horow the paine all night.

8 And they broughty head of 1hbofheth unro David to Hebron and faid to the King, Behold the head of Ifhbofhethy fon of Saul thine enemy Which fought thy life, and the LORD hath avenged my lord the King this diy of Sauland of his feed.

99 And David anfwered Rechab and Baanab his brother, the fons of Riminon the Beerothite, and faid unto them, as the Lord liueth, who hath redeemed my foule out of all adverfity.

10 When one told mee, faying Behold, Saul is dead (thinking to have brought good tidings) I took hold ofhim, and flew bin in Ziklag, who thought that I would bave given him a reward for his tidings:

11 How inuch more when wicked inen bave flaine a righteous perfon in his owne boufe, upon his bed Shall I not therefore Dow require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?

Hen came all the tribes of Ifrael to Da-
vid unto Hebron and fpake, faying, Be.
hold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

2 Alfo in time valt when Saul was king over us, thou waft he that leddeft out, and boroughreft in Ifrael: and the LORD faid to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Ifrael, and thou shalt be a captaine over Ifrael.

3 So all the Elders of Ifrael came to the king to Hebron & King David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD and they anointed David King over Ifrael.

4 David was thirty yeers old when be began to reigne,and he reigned forty yeeres.

David taketh Zion.

5 In Hebron he reigned over Iudah fe ven yeeres and fixe moneths: and in" ferufalen be reigned thirty and three yeeres over all Ifrael and ludah."

6 And the King and his men went un to Ierufalem unto the lebufites the inhabitants. oftheland: which fpake unto David, faying, Except thou take away the blinde and the laine, thou shalt not come in hither, Thinking David cannot come in bither.

7 Nevertheleffe, David tooke the strong hold of Zion, the fame is the city of David.

S And David faid on that day, Whofoever getteth up to the gutter, and finiteth the lebufites, and the lame, and the blind that are hated of Davids foule, het tha! be chief and Cap aine: wherefore they said, The blind and the lame fhall not come into she house.

9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it,The city of David, and David built round about from Millo inward

10 And David went on,and grew great, and the LORD God of boits was with him

11 And Hiram King of Tyre fent mef. fengers to David, and Cedar trees, and car penters, and mafons: and they built David an houfe.

12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him King over Ifrael, and that hee had exalted his kingdone for his people Mraels fake.

13 And David tooke bim inde concubines and wives out of Ierufalem, after hee was come froin Hebron, and there were yet fons and daughters borne to David.

14 And thefe be the names of thofe that' were borne unto him in ferufalein, Shammua,and Shobab,and Nathan,and Solomon, 15 Ibhar alto, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Iaphia.

16 And Elifhana,& Elizda,& Elipbalet. 17 But when the Philiftines beard that they had anointed David King over Ifrael, all the Philiftines came up to feeke David, and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

18 The Philifines alfo came and spread themfelves in the valley of Rephaim,

19 And David enquired of the LORD, faying, Shall I goe up to the Philiftines? wilt thou deliver their into mine hands? And the LORD faid un to David, Goe up: for I will doubtletle deliver the Philistines into thine hand:

20 And David came to Baal-Perazin,and David finote them there,& faid, The LORD hath broken forth upe mine enemies,before ine at the breach of waters. Therefore he cal. led the Name of the place Baal Perazim.

21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burnt then.

22 And the Philiftines came up yet againe, and fpread theinfelves in the valley of Rephaim.

23 And when David enquired of the Lord,be faid. Thou shalt not goe up but fetch a compaffe behind them, and come up. on then over again ft the mulberry trees.

24 And let it be when thou hearest the found of a going in the tops of y mulberry trees, that then thou fhalt ftitre thy felfe: for then fhally LORD goe out before thee, to finite the hofte of the Philistines.

25 And Divid did fo, as the LORD had cominanded him,and fmote the Philistines, from Geba, untill thou come to Gazer. CHAP. VI.

69 And when they came to Nachons threshing floore. Vzzah put forth his hand to the Arke of God and tooke fold of it, for the oxen fhoot it.

7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled againa Vzzah and God fmore him there for his errour, and there he died by the Arke of God.

And David was difpleafed, becaufe the LORD bad made a breach upon Vzzah: And be called the name of that place, PerezVzzah unto this day.

9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day,and faid, How hally Arke of the LORD come to ine?

10 So Dauid would not remove the Arke of the LORD unto him into the city of David but David carried it afide into the houfe of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

11 And the Arke of the LORD continued in the houfe of Obed Edom Gittite three noneths,and the LORD bleffed Osed Edoin and all his boufhold.

12 And it was told King David, fay ing.The LORD bath bleffed the boule of Obed-Edom, and all that pertwined unto him, becaule of the Arke of God, So David went and brought up the Arke of God, from the boufe of Obed-Edom into the city of David with gladnelle.

17 And they brought the Arke of the LORD, and fet it in his place in the midt of the Tabernacle that David had pitched for it:and David offered burnt offerings, and peace offerings before the LORD,

13 And affoone as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings, and peace offerings, he bleffed the people in the Name of the LORD of hoftes.

19 And be dealt, among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Ifrael. as well to the women as men, to every one cake of bread, & a good piece of fiel,and a flagon of wine: fo the people departed every one to his house,

20 Then David returned to bleffe his boufhold, and Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David,and faid. How glo rious was the King of Ifrael to day, who uncovered himfelfe to day in the eyes of the bandmaid of bis fervants, as one of the vaine fellowes fhamelely uncovereth bifelfe.

15 But my therey fhall not paffe away from hiin,as I tocke it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

18 Then went King David in and fate before the LORD, and he faid,who am I, O LORD God; and what is my houfe, that thou dideft bring me hithertu?

19 And this was but a finall thing in thy fight, O LORD God: but thou haft fpoken alfo of thy fervants houfe for a great while to come, and is this the maner of man, O LORD God?

20 And whatcan David say more unto thee for thou Lord GOD knoweft thy fervant. 21 For thy words fake, and according to

23 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people,euen like Ifrael, whom God went to redeeme for a people to himfelfe, and to make him a name, and to doe for you great things, and terrible for thy land, before thy people which thou redeemnedft to thee from Egypt, from the nations; and their gods?

24 For thou haft confirmed to thy felfe thy people Ifraelto be a people unto thee for e ver and thou LORD art become their God

25 And now O Lord God, the word that thou haft fpoken, concerning thy fervant, and concerning his houfe, eftablish it for e ver,and doe as thou haft faid.

26 And let thy Name be magnified for ever faying The LORD of hosts is the God over Ifrael: and let the boufe of thy servant David be eftablished before thee,&

27 For thou, O Lord of hoftes, God of tf. rael, haft revealed to thy fervant, faying will build thee an Boufe therefore hath thy fervant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee:

28 And now O Lord God, (thou art that God,and thy words be true, and thou haft promifed this goodnelfe unto thy fervant.

29 Therefore now let it pleale thee to bleffe the houfe of thy fervant, that it may continue for ever before thee for thou O LORD God haft fpoken it, and with thy bleffing, let the bfeffed for evete houfe of thy fervhút be USA CHAT VITI. ANd after this it came to pafle, that David

And it came to paffe after this, that the

Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD doe that which feemeth him good.

13 And Toab drew nigh,and the people that were with him to the battell against the Syrians and they fled before him.

14 And when the children of Ammon faw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they alfo before Abishai, and entred into the ci rie, fo Ioabretumed from the children of Ainion and came to Ierufalem.

15 And when the Syrians faw that they were finitten before Ifrael, they gathered themselves together:

And Hadarezer fent and brought out the Syrians y were beyond the river, & they came to Helain, and Shobach the captain of the hoft of Hadavezer vient before them.

And when it was told David,hega thered al Ifrael together, and paffed over Jordan, and came to Helam, and the Syriaas fet themfelves in aray against David, and aad fought with him.

And the Syrians fled before Ifrael and David flew the men of feven hundred charers of the Syrians, and fourty thousand? horfenen, and anore Shobach the captaine of their hoft who died there.

Ndk came to paffe, that after the yeere was expired at the time when kings go forth to batrell, that David fent Ioab and his fervants with him and allifrael and they de froyed the children of Ammon and befieged. 4. And David fent meffengers and tooke her, and the came unto him, and he lay with her (for fhe was purified from her unclean nefe) and the returned unto her house.

And David fent to loab, faying, Send me Vriah the Hittite, and Icabfent Vriah to David.

7 And when Vriah was come unto him David demanded of him how Ioab did, and how the people did, and howy war profpered

8 And David faid to Vriah, Go down to thy houfe, and wafh thy feete,and Vriah de parted out of the kings houfe, and there fol fowed him a meffe of meat from the king.

9 But Vriah fept at the doore of the kings houfe, with all the fervants of his LORD, and went not downe to his houfe.

10 And when they told David, faying Vriah went not downe to his houfe, David faid unto Vriah, Cameft thou not from thy journey? why did thou not go downeTM unto thy houfe

Ir And Vriah faid unto David, The Arke, and Ifrael,and Judah abide in tents, and my lord Ioab, and the fervants of my lord are encamped in the open fields: fhall then go into mine houfe to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? As thou liveft ? and as thy foule liveth I will not doe this thing.

12 And David faid to Viiah, Tarry here to dayalfo, and tomorrow I will let thee depart. So Vriab abode in Ierufalem that day and the inorrow.

13 And when David had called him he did eat and drink before him, and he made him drunk and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the fervants of the Lord, but went not downe to his houfe.

14 And it came to paffe in the morning that David wrote a letter to Ibab,And fent it by the hand of Vriah.

15 And he wrote in the letter, faying for ye Vriah in the forefront of the botreft bar. tell,and retire ye from him, that he may be> fnitten and die.

16 And it came to paffe, when Toab obfer. ved the city that be affigned Vriah unto a place where he knew tharvaliant men were

17 And the men of the city went out,and. fought with loab: and there fell fome of the people of the fervants of David, and Vriah the Hittite died allo.

18 Then Ioab fent and told David all the things concerning the warre.

19 And charged the meffenger faying, when thou halt made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king:
