These Coins have little or no currency in this Province; but as they are circulated in the Camp Bazar to a small extent, they are inserted in the list. These Coins have little currency in these Provinces. Their exchange has now been fixed with reference to the rates of the Bellaree Treasury, and to their estimated value by the Shroffs. WEIGHTS.-The English weights being in common use here, and at all the other Presidencies, the following account of their relative proportions may be found useful. The two principal weights established in Great Britain, are the avoirdupois and troy weights; the last is again divided into diamond and money weights; the grain is understood to be a grain of wheat, gathered in the middle of the ear. |
