me to be troubled. Let me not despise the chastening of my Lord, nor faint when I am rebuked of Him, for whom He loveth, He chasteneth, and scourgeth every soul whom He receiveth; therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees. Let, I pray Thee, Thy merciful kindness be for my comfort according unto thy word. Let thy tender Mercy come unto me that my soul may live and be thine for ever. I am thine, O save me, Hold me up, and I shall be safe. Let not any iniquity have dominion over me. O God thou knowest my sinfulness and my faults are not hid from thee. Lord I make my prayer unto thee in an acceptable time. Pardon me O God in the multitude of thy mercy, even in the truth of thy salvation. Hear me O Lord for thy loving-kind

THANKS FOR MERCIES

RECEIVED.

From Psalms 28 and 30.

I will magnify thee, O Lord, for thou hast lifted me up. The Lord is my strength, and my shield.

My heart trusted in him and I am helped. Blessed be the Lord because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength, and with my song will I praise him. O Lord, my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O Lord thou hast brought up my soul from the grave. Thou hast kept

me alive. I will rejoice and give thanks at the remembrance of thy holiness. Thy anger endureth but a moment. In thy favour is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. In my prosperity I said I shall never be moved-but thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. Then cried I unto thee, and made my supplication. Hear O Lord and have mercy upon me. Lord be thou my helper. Thou hast turned my heaviness into joy, and girded me with gladness. Therefore will I sing thy praise without ceasing. O my God I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Blessed is he that hath the Almighty one for his help, and whose hope is in the Lord his God.

ON TRUST IN GOD AND CONFIDENCE IN HIS MERCY.

In thee O Lord have I put my trust. Be thou my strong rock and house of defence, that thou mayst save me. Be thou also my guide, and lead me for
