thy name's sake. My time is in thy hand. My hope hath been in thee O Lord. I have said thou art my God. Shew thy servant the light of thy countenance, and save me for thy mercy's sake. O! how plentiful is thy goodness which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; and that thou hast prepared for them that put their trust in thee. Whom have I in Heaven but thee, and there is none upon earth that I desire in comparison of thee: my flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the strength of my soul and my portion for ever! The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, yea all such as call upon him faithfully. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him; he also will hear their cry and will help them. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I

will fear no evil, for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff comfort me. Thy loving-kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and when I wake up after thy likeness I shall be satisfied with it, for thou hast redeemed me, O Lord, thou God of truth.

ON JOY IN GOD.

I have set God always before me; he is on my right hand, therefore I shall not fail. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom then shall I fear; the Lord is the strength of my life of whom then shall I be afraid. In the time of my trouble he shall hide me in his tabernacle and shall set me upon a rock of stone. I should utterly have fainted hadst thou not been my succour. Leave me not, neither forsake me O God of

my salvation. Shew me the path of life; for in thy presence is the fulness of joy, and at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.

PRAISE AND GLORY.

My song shall be of the loving-kindness of the Lord, with my mouth will I ever be shewing thy truth, from one generation to another. Thy mercy shall be set up for ever, thy truth shall thou establish in the Heavens. God is greatly to be feared in the councils of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are round about him. O Lord God of Hosts! who is like unto thee? Thou rulest the raging of the Sea. Thou stillest the waves thereof when they arise. The Heavens are thine, the earth also is thine. Thou hast laid the foundations of the round

world, and all that therein is; righteousness, and judgment are the habitation of thy seat. Mercy and truth

shall go before thy face. The day is thine, and the night is thine. Thou hast prepared the light, and the Sun. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; thou hast made Summer and Winter-Ascribe unto the Lord all ye kindreds of the people, ascribe unto the Lord, Worship and Power-Glory and Worship are before him; Power and honour are his sanctuary. O Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Worship him in spirit and in truth." Let the whole earth stand in awe of him. Blessed are the people oh Lord, that can rejoice in thee. They shall walk in the light of thy countenanceTheir delight shall be daily in thy name, and in thy righteousness shall they trust for thou art the glory of their strength.

THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD.

Fret not thyself because of the ungodly. Neither be thou envious against the evil doers. For they shall soon be cast down like the grass, and be withered even as the green herb. herb. But put thou thy trust in the Lord and be doing good, dwell in the land and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thou in the Lord, and he shall give thee thy heart's desire. Commit thy way unto the Lord, and put thy trust in him, and he shall bring it to pass. He shall make thy righteousness as clear as the light and thy just dealing as the noonday. Hold thou still in the Lord and abide patiently upon him; but grieve not thyself at him whose way doth prosper, neither against the man that doeth after evil councils. Leave off from
