# Arranged in the Bureau of Statistics, Department of State, from Chinese official statistics published by order of the inspector-general of customs at Shanghai, and transmitted to the Department of State by the minister of the United States at Peking. The imports from Hong-Kong come originally from Great Britain, America, India, the Straits, and other countries.

The Haikwan tael, in which the customs revenue and all values are stated, is equivalent to §1.45.
