Washington, D. C. DEAR SIR: I have the honor to submit herewith, as required by law, a report of the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. to the Congress of the United States for the year 1914.

It has not been possible to close the accounts for December; therefore the results of the operations of the company for that month have been estimated, and the estimated amounts have been included in the report.

Upon the closing of the accounts a report showing the actual results for the entire year will be submitted to supplement the report now made.

SIR: I have the honor to submit herewith for the consideration of
Congress an estimate of appropriation, which has been approved by
the President, in the sum of $50,000, to extend to the Governments
of Central and South America an invitation to send representatives
to attend a conference with the Secretary of the Treasury, in the city
of Washington, and representative bankers of the United States
invited to attend said conference with a view to establishing closer
and more satisfactory financial relations between their countries and
the United States, and for the expenses incident to the meeting and
for the entertainment of the foreign conferees. Draft of desired
authority in the matter is submitted herewith.
