A GENERAL'S PETITIONS FOR SUCCESS IN BATTLE. Come now, therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people for they are too mighty for me; peradventure I shall prevail that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land.- Numb. xxii. 6.

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us. -Josh. x. 4.
