1. Then thou spakest in vision to thy | holy one, 'And saidst, I have laid help upon | one that is mighty; I have exalted one | chosen out of the people.

2. I have found | David my servant;

With my holy | oil have I anointed him: 3. With whom my hand shall be established: Mine arm also shall strengthen him.

4. The enemy shall not exact upon him; Nor the son of | wickedness afflict him.

5. And I will beat down his foes before his face,

And will plague them that hate him.

6. But my faithfulness and my mercy | shall be with him : And in my name shall his horn be exalted.

7. I will set his hand also | in the sea,

And his right hand in the rivers.

And mine hand take hold on judgment; 5. I will render vengeance | to mine enemies, And will reward them that hate me.

6. I will make mine arrows | drunk with blood, And my sword shall devour flesh;

7. With the blood of the slain and of the captives, From the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. 8. Rejoice, O ye nations | with his people:

For he will a venge the blood of his servants, 9. And will render vengeance | to his adversaries, And will be merciful | to his land, to his people.

1. O God, the proud are | risen against me,

[Ps. lxxxvi. 14.]

And the assemblies of the violent have sought my soul;
And have not set thee before them.

2. But thou, O Lord,

Art a GOD full of compassion, and gracious,
Longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
3. O turn unto me, and have | mercy upon me!
Give thy strength to thy servant,

And save the son of thine handmaid.

4. Show me a token for good;

That those who hate me may see, and be ashamed: Because thou, O JEHOVAH, hast | helped me, and comforted me.

SELECTION 195.

1. Come, and let us return to JEHOVAH :
For he hath torn, and | he will heal us;
He hath smitten, and | he will bind us up.
2. After two days will | he revive us :
In the third day he will | raise us up,
And we shall live in his sight.

3. Then | shall we know,

'If we follow on to know JEHOVAH.

4. His going forth is prepared as the morning; And he shall come unto us as the rain,

As the latter and former | rain unto the earth.
