5. For the pillars of the earth are JEHOVAH's,
And he hath | set the world upon them. 6. He will keep the feet of his saints,
And the wicked shall be silent in darkness ; "For by strength shall no man prevail. 7. The adversaries of JEHOVAH shall be broken to pieces ; Out of heaven | shall he thunder upon
them: 8. JEHOVAH shall judge the | ends of the earth;
And he shall give strength to his king,

[Deut. xxxii. 9.] 1. For JEHOVAH's portion is his people;
Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. 2. 'He found him in a | desert land,

He kept him as the apple of his eye. 4. As an eagle stirreth | up her nest,
And fluttereth over her young, 5. Spreadeth a broad her wings,

That he might eat the | increase of the fields ; 8. And he made him to suck honey | out of the rock,
And oil | out of the flinty rock.
SELECTION 191. [Deut. xxxii. 36.] 1. For Jehovah shall I judge his people,
And repent himself for his servants, 2. When he seeth that their / power is gone,
And there is none shut up, or left. 3. For I lift up my | hand to heaven,
And I say, I live forever. 4. 'If I whet my | glittering sword,
And mine hand take hold on judgment; 5. I will render vengeance | to mine enemies,
And I will reward them that hate me. 6. I will make mine arrows | drunk with blood,
And my sword shall devour flesh; 7. With the blood of the slain and / of the captives,
From the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. 8. Rejoice, 0 ye nations | with his people :
For he will alvenge the blood of his servants, 9. And will render vengeance to his adversaries,
And will be merciful to his land, to his people.
SELECTION 192. [Ps. xliii.] 1. Judge me, O God! and | plead my cause,
Against an unsgodly nation:

Let him be known among the heathen | in our sight,
By the revenging of the blood of thy servants shed. 4. Let the sighing of the prisoner | come before thee;
According to the greatness of thy power,
Preserve thou those that are appointed to die; 5. And render unto our neighbors sevenfold,
Into their bosom | their reproach,
Wherewith they have reproach-ed thee, O Lord! 6. So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture
Will give thee | thanks for ever:
SELECTION 194. [Ps. lxxxvi. 14.] 1. O God, the proud are | risen against me,
And the assemblies of the violent have | sought my soul;
And have not set thee before them. 2. But | thou, O Lord,
Art à God full of compassion, and gracious,
Longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. 3. O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me!
Give thy | strength to thy servant,
And save the son of thine handmaid. 4. Show me a | token for good ;
That those who hate me may see, and be ashamed:
[Ho. vi.] 1. Come, and let us re|turn to JEHOVAH:
For he hath torn, and he will heal us;
He hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2. After two days will he revive us :
In the third day he will | raise us up,
And I we shall live in his sight. 3. Then | shall we know,
'If we follow on to know JEHOVAH.
And he shall come unto us | as the rain,
