REJOICE IN THE LORD:

SERVE HIM

CHEERFULLY.

And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the Lord had done to Israel... Ex. xviii. 9.

... Ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the Lord thy God hath blessed thee.-Deut. xii. 7.

And thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the Lord thy God hath chosen to place his name there.-Deut. xvi. 11.

And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast...14.

...Because the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.-15.

And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the Lord thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.-Deut. xxvi. 11.

And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.Deut. xxvii. 7.

My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord:...I rejoice in thy salvation.— 1 Sam. ii. 1.

...And the Lord wrought a great salvation for all Israel thou sawest it, and didst rejoice.-1 Sam. xix. 5.

...They blessed the king, and went unto their tents. joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.-1 Kings viii. 66.

Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.-1 Ch. xvi. 27.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice...31.

Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.-1 Ch. xxix. 9.

...As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.-17.

...And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.—2 Ch. xxix. 30. And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the

Levites that taught the good knowledge of the Lord...2 Ch. xxx. 22.

And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days and they kept other seven days with gladness.-23.

...And all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.-25.

So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon...there was not the like in Jerusalem.-26.

...And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.-Ezra iii. 11.

But many of the priests and Levites...that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:-12.

So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.-13.

...And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy for the Lord had made them joyful... Ezra vi. 22.

And Nehemiah...said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.-Neh. viii. 9.

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared for this day is holy unto our Lord neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.-Neh. viii. 10.

So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.-11.

And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.-12.

...And there was very great gladness.-17.

Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced for God had made them rejoice with great joy the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.-Neh. xii. 43.

...And the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. -Est. viii. 15.

The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.-16.

And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness...17.

...Then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.-Job xxii. 26.

He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable

unto him and he shall see his face with joy...Job xxxiii. 26.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...Ps. i. 1.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord...2.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.Ps. iv. 7.

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.-Ps. v. 11.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee... Ps. ix. 2. ...I will rejoice in thy salvation.-14.

But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.-Ps. xiii. 5.

I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.-6.

...When the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad. Ps. xiv. 7.

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.-Ps. xvi. 8. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth :...9.

...In thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.—11.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart...Ps. xix. 8.
