GRATITUDE TO GOD.

PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING.

...And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the Lord.-Gen. xxiv. 26.

And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth...27.

Then Jacob said unto his household,... Gen. xxxv. 2. ...Let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.-3.

And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will.-Lev. xxii. 29.

When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.-Deut. viii. 10.

...Thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth...18.

And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the Lord thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the Lord

thy God, according as the Lord thy God hath blessed thee.-Deut. xvi. 10.

Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart for consider how great things he hath done for you.-1 Sam. xii. 24.

The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.2 Sam. xxii. 47.

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.-50.

And he (David) appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to record, and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel.-1 Ch. xvi. 4.

Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.-8.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised...25. Glory and honour are in his presence...27. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name...29. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.-—34.

Save us, O God of our salvation,...that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise,-35.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for ever and

ever.

And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.-36.

...Stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at even.-1 Ch. xxiii. 30.

Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. -1 Ch. xxix. 10.

Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.-11.

Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. -13.

And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the Lord your God. And all the congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the Lord.-20.

And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.-2 Ch. vii. 3.

And the Levites...stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.-2 Ch. xx. 19.

Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the Lord... And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.-2 Ch. xxix. 30.

And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service...to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the Lord.-2 Ch. xxxi. 2.

And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.-Ezra iii. 11.

And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground. -Neh. viii. 6.

...Stand up and bless the Lord your God for ever and ever and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.-Neh. ix. 5.

And Mattaniah...was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer... Neh. xi. 17.

For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.-Neh. xii. 46. ·

I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.-Ps. vii. 17.

O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!-Ps. viii. 9.

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart... Ps. ix. 1.

I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.-Ps. xiii. 6.

I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel. ...Ps. xvi. 7.

Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord... Ps. xviii. 49.

My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation... Ps. xxii. 25.

...They shall praise the Lord that seek him...26.

I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord :-Ps. xxvi. 6.

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.-7.

Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.-Ps. xxx. 4.

To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.-12.

Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.-Ps. xxxi. 21. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.-Ps. xxxiii. 1.

I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.-Ps. xxxv. 18. According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth... Ps. xlviii. 10.
