BE TRUTHFUL AND UPRIGHT,

HONEST AND FAITHFUL.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.-Ex. xx. 16.

Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. -Ex. xxiii. 1.

If a soul sin,...and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep,... Lev. vi. 2.

Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein :-3.

Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took...4. Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.-Lev. xix. 11.

Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.-13.

If thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee,... 1 Kings ix. 4.

Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever...1 Kings ix. 5.

...Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.Ps. vii. 8.

My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.-10.

For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.-Ps. xi. 7. Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?' who shall dwell in thy holy hill ?-Ps. xv. 1.

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.-2.

...He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not...4.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.-Ps. xxv. 21.

As for me, I will walk in mine integrity.-Ps. xxvi. 11. ...For the Lord preserveth the faithful...Ps. xxxi. 23. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. -Ps. xxxii. 2.

...Shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.—11.

For praise is comely for the upright.—Ps. xxxiii. 1. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again... Ps. xxxvii. 21.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts... Ps. li. 6.

...The mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. -Ps. lxiii. 11.

...All the upright in heart shall glory.-Ps. lxiv. 10. ...No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.-Ps. lxxxiv. 11.

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.-Ps. lxxxv. 10. Truth shall spring out of the earth...11.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the dark

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart :-Prov. iii. 3.

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.- -4.

My mouth shall speak truth...Prov. viii. 7.

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely.-Prov. x.9. The integrity of the upright shall guide them... Prov. xi. 3.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them...6.

He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.-Prov. xii. 17.

The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.-19.

Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.-22.

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.-Prov. xiv. 5.

A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.-25.

...A man of understanding walketh uprightly.Prov. xv. 21.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged...Prov. xvi. 6. Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.Prov. xix. 1.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.-5.

The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.--Prov. xx. 7.

Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.-28.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. -Prov. xxi. 6.

Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another.—Prov. xxv. 9.

Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.-19.

A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.-Prov. xxvi. 28. Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.-Prov. xxviii. 6.

Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved...18.

A faithful man shall abound with blessings...20. Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.-Eccl. vii. 29.

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.-Isa. xxvi. 7.

Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know,...if ye can find a man,... that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.-Jer. v. 1. O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth?...3. ...Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?-Micah ii. 7.

...Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:...Zech. viii. 16.

...And love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.-17.
