So they 3, 4 ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the 5 linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. Then 6 cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, and the napkin, that was about his head, 7 not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in 8 also that other disciple, which came first to the

say that he was stolen out of his sepulchre. MW. 28.

Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed

unto the chief priests all the things that were 12 done. And when they were assembled with the

elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large 13 money unto the soldiers, saying, Say ye, His

disciples came by night, and stole him away 14 while we slept. And if this come to the gover

15 So they took the money, and did as they were

taught: and this saying is commonly reported
among the Jews until this day.
