Nay, fhould Death with his laft meffage
Call thee hence, Chrift's Defence Leads thro' his dark passage. 8. Conquer'd Death cannot deftroy us, But cuts fhort grief and Smart, That doth here annoy us; Shuts the door on fin and fadness,
And makes way for the Day Of eternal gladness.
9 There fhall I in feas of Pleasure Bath my heart, after smart, Without end or measure. Here's no real good to reft in; Worldly gain is but vain,
Perishing and wafting.
z. Tho' Sin doth rage and tear, Yet I will not defpair, For Chrift is my falvation, Spite of all condemnation : On him I am relying In living and in dying. 3 Should my laft Minute come, Twill but convey me home, Where I fhall fee th' intention Of Chrift and his Redemption: Be't this Day or to-morrow, Then ceafes Sin and forrow. 4. O Lord God, Jefus Chrift, Our Saviour and High priest, Thy bloody Wounds and Paffion Surpafs our declaration;
10. World! what are thy Goods and They have obtained for us
But a handful of fand, Vain and empty rattles? Yonder are the folid Treafures,
Where the Lord will afford Endless joys and pleasures. 11. Lord, my Spring of confolation! Thou art mine, I am thine, Here's no Separation.
I am thine, for thou wert giving All thy Blood for my good And my heav'nly Living.
12. Thou art mine, fince I embrace thee
With my Heart, ne'er to part, Till thy Light folace me : Lord, hafte on, tranflate me yonder, Where thy Love shall improve To an endless Wonder.
1.TN God the Lord moft juft
place my only Truft,
For he is my Redeemer
From fin and the Blafphemer;
He can and will relieve me
A Destiny moft glorious. 5. Amen, with one accord Let us intreat the Lord, To guide us with his Spirit, Till we at laft inherit, By Hope that fhan't miscarry, Our Saviour's Realm and glory.
Lefs our going out, O God,
When we come in, also bless us.
Thy Flesh blefs our daily Food,
Blefs our drink thy Blood, O Jefus, Let the Dew from thy wounds cover
From what might hurt and grieve me.Us in ev'ry Hour all over.

"MY foul, awake, and tender To God,thy great Defender,
Thy Prayer and Thanksgiving, Because thou ftill art living. 2. Laft Night, when lying fenfelefs, And utterly defenceless, Lord, I was in great danger, From darkness and its Ranger. 3. Perhaps that lion's fury Was ready to devour me; Thy gracious Condefcenfion Has ftopt his foul intention. 4. Thou faid'ft once: Child, be eafy; My Prefence fhall release thee From ev'ry pain and evil, In fpite of hell and devil. 5.Thou, Lord, haft kept thy Promise; In vain is Satan's malice; With joy I ftill discover Thy light, O Lord, my Lover. 6. My thanks fhall be the spices Of Morning Sacrifices: They with humiliation Sue for thine Acceptation. 7. Nor body, foul, nor fpirit Can boaft of any merit: Yet won't thy Love defpife me, In my heart's depth it eyes me. 8. Fulfil in me thy Pleasure : Thy Mercy be my treasure ; Thy Angel guard my goings This Day, thou blefs my Doings.
Shine on my Habitation, My Heart be quite thy manfion, Thy Word continually
Food, Lamp, thro' this dark Valley. 10.Blefs both my Thought and Action; Afford me thy Direction; To thee alone be tending. Beginning, Middle, Ending
Gott des himmels und der erden.
G Father, Son, and holy
OD the Lord of the Creation,
Night and Day in alternation, Sun and Moon thy glory boaft: All things in the Universe Thy supporting Hand rehearse. 2.Lord, to thee my Praife and prayer Are directed from my heart; 'Tis thou foil'ft my foul's betrayer, And preferv'ft me from his Art, So that his enfnaring train, By thy grace, is laid in vain. 3. Let the night of my tranfgreffion With this Darkness pass away; Jefu into thy poffeffion
I refign myself to-day. In thy Wounds I find relief For my greatest sin and grief. 4. Grant, that free I rife this Morn- ing
From the Lethargy of fin; So my Soul, through thy adorning Will be glorious within; And I at the Judgment-day Shall not be a cast-away. 5. Let my life and conversation Be directed by thy Word; Lord thy conftant Preservation To thy erring child afford. No where but alone in thee From all harm I can be free. 6. Lord! my Body, Soul and Spirit, Keep in thine Almighty Hand: By thy all-fufficient Merit,
Let them follow thy Command. Thou'rt my glory and renown, And I would be all thy own. 7. To thy Angels keeping give me, To direct my feeble feet; And, when Satan would deceive me, To repel the hellish cheat:
Thy Glory knows no night; With thee the darkness can't conteft, For theu thyself art Light. 3. In mercy, Lord, remember me, This inftant paffing Night; And grant to me molt gracioufly The fafe-guard of thy Might. 4. Refift all Satan's tyranny, By th' holy angels' hoft; So fhall I be from danger free, As one by grace inclos'd. 5. And tho' I feel the Load of Sin, Which still oppreffes me ; Yet th' Anguish thy dear Son was in,
Has greater Weight with thee. 6. 'Tis he alone that pleads for me; His Merits plead my caufe: A Reprobate, I ne'er can be, Relying on his Grace.
7. With chearful heart I close my
Since thou'lt not from me move : O, in the Morning let me rife Rejoicing in thy love.
8. Away from me, all vain defires! A new Defign I ftart;
Werde munter mein gemuthe.
Oufe thy felf, my Soul, and gather
All thy fenfes from abroad, To adore thy heav'nly Father, And the Goodness of thy God; For preferving thee this Day, Chafing ghoftly foes away,
That their malice and delufion Could not bring thee in confufion. 2. Bleffed be thy gracious favour Father of Eternity! That thou'ft helpt me in my Labour, After my neceffity;
That in all my care and grief Thou haft fent me kind Relief;
And remov'd on each Occafion, What might injure my falvation. 3. None of all the skill'd in numbers, No created eloquence Can exprefs or count the wonders
Of thy gracious providence. O, thy Mercies are too great For us Mortals to repeat: Let us then adore in spirit, What's above our Senfe and merit. Now this tiresome Day is finish'd, Gloomy Night draws on apace; Chearful day-light is diminish'd,
And the fun has hid his face : Lord, endow me with thy Love, That the Inftances I prove
Let thy Wrath no longer burn: I confess the Guilt of fin; But thy Grace can speak me clean, Which exceeds, beyond expreffion, All my poifon and tranfgreffion. 7. Author of Illumination,
Light of Light, eternal Word! Soul and Body's prefervation
I commit to thee, O Lord: My Redeemer, dwell in me, That I fleep and wake with thee, And enjoy thy confolation Thro' all temp'ral variation.
8. Guard me from the fnares of Satan,
Who by Craft invisible Could raife dreams I never thought
And abominate to tell : Let me never lose the fight Of thy good and gracious Light. When I feel thy Prefence gentle, I know nought of Conflicts mental. 9. When I close mine eyes to flum ber,
And my Senfes lie afleep, Let my waking Heart the number Of thy Mercies tell and keep; Fill me with thy facred love, That I dream of things above, And keep close to thee my Saviour Even in my Night's behaviour.
'Ith thee I lay me down to sleep,
To thee I will commend me. And in this Night attend me : I truft, my Guardian, thou wilt keep, Of Death I'm not afraid,
Nor world nor hell I dread ; For who with Jefus fhuts his eyes, He also does with Jefus rife. 2. So then I will fleep happily, Jefu in thy embraces; Thy watchful care fhall cover me, My Bed thall be thy Mercies;
